Who exactly owns the car?

Few years ago a friend in the military got a nice ride.
She made a post on WhatsApp about her new whip.
For a young officer she was so happy.
She called me to inquire about getting her number plates & I referred her to the NVIS officer close to her to get a complete registration. We ended he calls after asking how we gonna wash the new ride. Maybe due to no cash immediately or she wasn't ready to get the ride registered becoz she hardly took it out just in the barracks. A few months later she went to withdraw from the ATM outside the barracks on her way to her sister place. She withdrew came out and her car was gone. It was like magic but there was nothing she could do than to call and rush to the police station to report.
She reported her car stolen  and other things in the car which includes her bag, laptop and uniforms.
She called me to know if there was a way I can help. I asked for vehicle no she said it wasn't registered 😔
I went speechless.
I told her she has gotten her self in a difficult situation. Because if the one who stole the cr registers it she will find it hard to get her car back.

The police investigation began and the vehicle was reported stolen and tracking started. After a year the vehicle was seen in Benue by her course mate who travelled for an event. The one who bought the car didn't remove the the military stickers neither did the person change the color of the vehicle but the vehicle was already registered.

The car owner was invited to the police station and case moved to where the report originally started.
The guy bought the car from a car dealer in Kaduna. In the course of the investigation we discovered the Customer papers they gave her was fake and the new owner got the orginal paper.

The car dealer was tracked and when they got to his house the dudes family were mourning him. He slept and didnt wake.

The issue became very very complicated.
Who do you think owns the car by law?

How I met my mentor and I unmentored him
